I've pretty much given up on my career in higher ed. I'm not going anywhere unless it all collapses, but staying motivated & excited abt teaching & research in this country has been impossible. They've sucked every ounce of enjoyment from this profession.

I just sat in a meeting and listened to admin demand that we find a way to teach more classes without any funding, on top of the funding cuts we just got that forced us to cancel more classes they want taught. Make it make sense. It's the end of higher ed.

Not surprised that the surveillance machine for edu chose to embed AI in its LMS. How does a company have the right to force people to use AI? What if the university has an AI policy. Is there an off switch? If people wanted AI, they wouldn't have to firehose it down your throat.
