Going to take some time to see if this Mastodon thing is a better option. I'm over there.

@john_d_miles If I were a $TSLA or SpaceX shareholder I'd be wondering what the actual fuck was going on. Cause this Twitter shit isn't your fight.

@john_d_miles So basically an over-rich man-baby bought a thing he doesn't understand and decided to "fix" non-problems with it. Along the way he alienated basically everyone. What an incredible destruction of value.

@john_d_miles And they're pulling all nighters making Twitter for Android run faster. Which is totally the biggest problem that needs to be solved.

@john_d_miles So now there's like 20 people left at Twitter. Probably because they're on H1B visas and don't have attractive options. Or they're toxic shitheads who think this shit is sweet.

@john_d_miles There may be a time and a place to sacrifice yourself for a job, but I'm not sure it is at a failing social media company with no vision, maniac leadership, and an upside-down valuation (so you aren't going to see upside).

@john_d_miles Then he tells employees they need to be "hardcore" or be gone. Long hours, mercurial (at best) leadership, no vision other than "more people saying the n-word if they want to!!!".

@john_d_miles Then he got in public fights with employees about how Twitter's internals work. Which he totally understands because he's been there for a week. What a fucking douche.

@john_d_miles Oh and he laid off half the staff after being in charge for about 20 min. I've laid people off and it fucking -sucks- But we took time to make the hard choices while still planning for D-Day +1 where the org still has to function. And we treated the people laid off with respect.

@john_d_miles So he set about "fixing" shit that wasn't wrong with Twitter. Like turning verification into an $8/month thing.

@john_d_miles And advertisers freaked out. As they should. Every other right-wingy social media site isn't worth shit because they are all just toxic echo chambers. What non-shitty company wants to be linked up with that sort of shit?.

@john_d_miles So he was forced to go through with the deal. Which was a bad one. Which was even worse after the market took a dump on itself.

@john_d_miles Then he sobered up and decided he wanted out of the deal. But the Delaware Chancery Court wouldn't let him snake out of it.

@john_d_miles Which the CEO and the Board had no choice but to accept - "building shareholder value" and all that.

@john_d_miles For some reason, Elno Musk thought the most important problem in the world today was that not enough people got to say the n-word on Twitter.
