Chicago has work to do on public safety, but we’re making real progress. The last thing we need is Donald Trump trying to send in the military—illegally—to stir chaos and distract from his sinking approval ratings. This is authoritarian bluster and we won’t stand for it.

As someone who yearns for a thriving Palestinian state and a secure Israel, I cannot stay silent about the atrocities committed by Netanyahu's government. But words alone aren't enough. The U.S. must halt the transfer of offensive weapons to Israel and recognize a Palestinian.

Of course Chicago is one of the best cities on the planet for Gen Z, but we have to make sure it stays that way. That means growing more good jobs and making rent and home ownership actually affordable.
