Now I have a study I want to do but the logistics in my mind are probably not feasible.
@dan_guberman @joshua_r_eyler I think that's a good way to put it: possibly more work, definitely more well-being.

So pretty much no more operas in the state. Seriously though this is horrifying especially living in a state that would eagerly copy this bill.
Terrifying. Tennessee just released SB3 - this bill, if passed, would make "male or female impersonators providing entertainment that appeals to a prurient interest"/drag in public a crime. This is so vague that it could be targeted at trans actors, comedians, story hours.

This would be terrible of the many places I have lived this location is the only BMV/DMV where I have consistently had a pleasant experience. And the population has been growing relatively fast so it’s probably another effort to suppress voting in a college town.
BMV aims to close West Lafayette license branch. WL Mayor John Dennis says (paraphrasing here): Wait, what?. Public hearing in two weeks.

This is exciting, I’ve been talking about and sharing Kasser and Ryan’s 1993 Dark Side of the American Dream article ever since I read it a few years ago, as it continues to be even more relevant today in my mind (of course SDT is always relevant).
An enormous review—105 studies; over 70k people—found that valuing external validation and outcomes over internal rewards and satisfaction was associated with negative wellbeing. Seeking fame or money (above a certain threshold) makes you worse off. Here’s what makes you well:
