Coptic/Ethiopian “Christianity” had nothing to do with your distant ancestors that had their own religion/spiritual worldview within what is today Senegal, Nigeria, Benin, Angola, or both Congos. Stop the false “black/African” equivalent claim of distorted western Christianity.

“Double consciousness bound them together... Elements of the Igbo collective memory resisted fusion but appeared cooperative. The way to survive was to live one way in the white man’s world and live their way in the seclusion of the forest.” Sound like Hush Harbors to me!

Many people follow religion out of fear, not love or understanding. They’re told Don’t question Don’t think Just obey.

When he said alafia I thought about Yoruba people. When they began singing and drumming I thought about Afro-Cubans. They have a lot of ancestry from Biafra and interior region all the way from Efik/Igbo/Igala lands to Olukumi and Yorubaland.

But then again, straight hair is still the beauty standard that most women in America want so there’s more of an ambiguous standard today. Before, it was ALL white. Having a big ass was a negative until 2000s Rap videos.

In America, wyt women are the first archetype of woman young boys see being sexualized or considered beautiful. At least that’s how it was when I was young. You got thick latinas & Asians on the scene now, and every woman wants a fat ass so black women’s bodies are the standard.

At like 7-8 years old, I thought Anna Nicole and the college hoes on Girls Gone Wild was fine shyt until I seen Yaya DaCosta. She really elevated my taste in women.
