In an election where Labour’s vote increased massively, and the Greens managed an increase on 2017 (plus AkCent!), but NZF were wiped out and the Nats smashed, imagine my surprise to hear Garner and Richardson describe the results this morning as NZ rejecting of the Greens 🙄
@kiwieric
Actually a little bit I guess that’s on me. The amount of twisting required was beyond me. And of course the only fucking question to the Greens this morning was “so, wealth tax?”
@ben79nz
I’m not denying that a possibility around the margins, I just think it’s weird for that to be the main takeaway given the increase in Green vote and hammering of National electorate MPs too.
@damianchristie
One thing that seems obvious this morning is that the people who have backed the plethora of RW media/talkback/etc have backed the wrong horse and are fighting over a diminishing market ... let's see who breaks rank first and goes for the larger lefty talkback market
@MoonbaseOtago
LW talkback doesn’t seem to work - Radio Live tried it for a bit early on before reverting to Plunket et al. Not enough angry people furious at the Maoris ruining everything or the climate hoax or Taxinda etc. It needs ill-informed prejudice to work 😂
@damianchristie
Most minor parties would be ecstatic to "fail" lose the Greens did. Chosen not to watch 3 brekkie. If you really get annoyed at Richardson. YouTube home getting cramp while batting.
@damianchristie
@MandyHager
In the last parliament the Greens had eight seats. Thus far they have ten this time with the distinct possibility of two more from special votes.
@damianchristie
I do think many a Nat voter went red to make sure greens weren’t needed. But with that fact that’s still a bizarre takeaway. But check this out.
