The fact that this is still his biggest regret, and how he’d do it differently is by just ignoring public opinion to change something simply because of his own reckons shows what a cockwomble this chap really is. If there was ever any doubt, that is.
@damianchristie
Exactly. Families living in cars, ppl unable to afford basic food stuffs apparently not even worth a mention. I have never been more disappointed in a Prime Minister than by John Key & his trite treatment of our flag, esp as he saw it as little more than a rebranding exercise

@richardhills777
The NZ prime minister role was nothing more than a vanity project for him. Think god he resigned when he did - if he were still in the role now he’d be crawling up the backsides of Trump and BoJo... an unholy trinity of rich braggarts out of their depth.
@damianchristie
No, there's no doubt. But under the coalition government, you do tend to forget the breathtaking arrogance of Key. And the complete lack of taste.Thank f*** we didn't get stuck with the ugliest flag ever.
@damianchristie
Such arrogance.
Also, I think if he hadn’t stacked the deck with his damn rugby ferns and actually had *proper flag* designs, he actually would have got a change in flag. NZ was pretty split until he took that heavy handed approach.
