The attempt at control of Gaza city planned by Isreal is foolish. It will be like N Ireland on steroids. I predict in 2 years time most hostages will be dead, dozens more IDF troops will be dead. Thousands more civilians dead and security will be worse than now. Foolish.

Calculation: people used to be sent abroad as a “punishment”. It was called “transportation”. If you’re a convicted foreign born criminal can part of the punishment being returned to your country of origin? .So if your sentence was say 10 years, you are deported after 4?.

From Jan 2020 to Jan 2024 the UK was ejected from the EU Horizon Science program. The EU claimed technical reasons for the UK having to leave. Yet now the EU is threatening to eject Isreal from Horizon as “punishment” for Gaza. So yes it was always punishment for the UK.

So Starmer is inviting sick children from Gaza to come here. No figures on the numbers, children, parents, hangers-on. No mention of returning them to Gaza? No checks on terrorists? Forgive me for being cynical, but experience has shown the UK always makes mistakes with this.
