"With symbolic AI, you don't just get predictions or answers. You also get transparent explanations for the results, so you understand how the AI arrived at its conclusions." This is a clip from my recent interview with @matteorizzi and Jyske Bank TV.

I just tried OpenAI o1. I wanted to test its ability to reason about a genuinely new scientific idea. Although it was fun, it illustrated to me that o1 still can't think outside the box in the way that is needed to generate genuinely new understanding. The conversation was about

once companies grow to a 1000 employees or above. In my next endeavours, I will probably solve this by keeping the size of the organisation down. This is something that AI will make possible. Perhaps one of the biggest boosts that AI will bring to society will be due to🧵/3

I think the lack of attention to truth explains the inefficiency that creeps into organisations as they grow. I've seen this happen in my own companies, even at moderate scale, and as a consultant, I have seen how little truth matters, 🧵/2

Humans are social animals, and we will often shy away from the truth if it is socially damaging, because in a tribal setting, truth tellers were clubbed to death. On the other hand, the level of success of an organisation is determined by how truth-seeking they are. 🧵/1

I am really afraid of the term "hate speech". It seems designed to fertilize the ground for censorship. Just like "verbal violence", and other such lingo.

@ThierryBreton @elonmusk @DigitalEU Oh no! You didn't seriously write to Elon Musk and ask him to censor the live interview with Donald Trump? How could you do something so incredibly silly and destructive? In public and in the name of the EU trying to interfere with the presidential election in the US😳

The forgotten crook behind the rise of nazism? In 1919, the newly formed Weimar Republic adopted a constitution guaranteeing freedom of speech, press, assembly, etc. As the economic crisis deepened in the 1930s, President Hindenburg began to curtail these freedoms to suppress

With Ukraine's incursion into Kursk, Putin has achieved his goal of putting more land between Russia and NATO. Can we stop the war now, please 🕊️

On July 28 1997 the stock price of Intel passed $20 for the first time. It was the year the Pentium II was launched. Today, the stock price passed $20 once again. Which means that if you invested $100 in Intel 27 years ago, you would have $100 worth of shares today.🤨

On this one I'm with Elon. Electronic voting undermines trust in democracy, fraud or not. Let's *never* have electronic voting here in Denmark.

Why in the world do so many people think that salaries should be kept secret? Tomorrow at around 11:30 I'll be in "Ring til @radio4dk" to discuss just that. It's going to be in Danish🇩🇰, so half of my followers 🌐 can just ignore this, and go with the summary: they shouldn't.

Five frogs sat on a log. Four decided to jump in. How many were left? Answer: Five. ... Deciding to do is not the same as doing, as so many of my startup friends have (bitterly) learned.

I understand the privacy concerns in the Apple/OpenAI integration, but it is still surprising to me that Elon Musk freaks so much out about it🤔 Any ideas why this has him so agitated?
