I am very proud, as the Chair of Canada’s Memory of the World Advisory Committee, to share our latest (and most exciting) commemorative inscription - the handwritten Anne of Green Gables manuscript.
In alignment with the 150th anniversary of author L.M. Montgomery’s birth, the @ConfedCentre and CCUNESCO are pleased to announce the addition of the Anne of Green Gables manuscript to the Canada Memory of the World Register. @LMMI_PEI

Too young. What awful news.
Former B.C. premier John Horgan died Tuesday morning at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria after his third diagnosis of cancer. He was 65. https://t.co/DAmOKN7ke9

It was an honour to have spent time with Murray Sinclair. He will be remembered as one of the most influential people in the history of this country. The news of his death was shared when I was teaching Indigenous Peoples & Canadian History. We discussed his many contributions.

My dad was told he likely had prostate cancer for five years without knowing. When he found out, it was Stage 4 and terminal. He died a year later. My dad never went for a prostate exam. If you have a prostate and you’re over 45, book your exam. https://t.co/Mbcocog9JW

My grandmother was born 106 years ago today. I just received this letter about her. She lost her Indian Status between the 1930s and 1980s. Here, the federal government told her that she had then become “of white status.” Not language we often seen in historical documentation.

My thoughts are with the family of Murray Sinclair as he remains in the ICU receiving the care and support that he needs. Truly one of the most consequential people in our country.

A former student of federal Indian boarding schools in the U.S. says Joe Biden's rare presidential apology was long overdue. "They should have done it years ago," says 74-year-old Rosie Yellowhair.

I’ll be joining @CreesonAPTN at 6:00pm EST to discuss Biden’s historic apology.
BREAKING: President Joe Biden is expected to formally apologize for the country’s role in the Indian boarding school system, which devastated the lives of generations of Indigenous children and their ancestors.

A very important moment in the United States. Interesting timing that Joe Biden is doing this with months left of the presidency, but still - very important.

I think Charles has done some important things in shifting some dialogues. Him laughing in response to this is ridiculous.
Indigenous senator Lidia Thorpe yells at King Charles after he finished giving a speech at the Australian Parliament: “You committed genocide against our people, give us our land back! Give us what you stole from us! You are not our King!”
