They don't call Cartersville "Museum City" for nothing! The latest one to hit is the Cartersville Elementary Wax Museum hosted by Ms. Brittany Jones' fourth grade challenge students.

Kindergarten has been learning about different famous African Americans throughout Black History month. They listened and danced to music by Louis Armstrong, learned about Ruby Bridges, and so many more!

Mrs. Randolph and Mrs. Norwood's classes worked on a team-building activity to kick-start the school year. Students had to complete eight different challenges by stacking cups only using string and rubber bands. They loved the challenge of not being able to use their hands!

The CCS ESOL teams from each school recently hosted a family night in the Cartersville High School courtyard. The event featured face painting, food trucks, Kona Ice, and a great night of fun and connection for our ESOL families and teachers. #ourheartisinit

Thank you to Dr. Cline from Cline Orthodontics! For the past several years, he has taught our second-grade students about dental hygiene and provided them with a goody bag. Just in time for February, which is National Dental Health Month!

Honors Biology students recently completed a study of plants' responses to light and gravity. The weeklong lab allowed students to practice detailed note-taking as they manipulated the responses of stems and roots to changes in their environment.

After looking at various sources and accounts of Holocaust survivors and reading the poem "I Never Saw Another Butterfly," students in AP World History created these butterflies to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27. The theme for this year was "Ordinary People."

Accelerated Precalculus students played Determinant WAR with Matrices in Mrs. Mindy Surrett's class. (We aren't sure what that means, but the students look like they know. 😂 In the end, that's what matters.)

Yesterday was the 1000th day of school for fifth graders since they began kindergarten. 180 school days x 5 school years = 900 days + 100 days (this school year) = 1,000 days

Fourth grade students are using their engineering skills in a STEAM inspired activity. They built Christmas trees using only gumdrops and tooth picks!

After learning about the three branches of government, students in Ms. Knott's fourth-grade class explored the concept of checks and balances through an iCivics game. Students proposed a bill, held hearings about it, deliberated, and then took votes to get it passed.
