To clarify for folks, in many cases, just reducing your gain setting on a decent recorder is all that’s actually needed. Stop following the bad advice to target peaks at -12 and especially to -6dB FS.

I listened to a recording that was made and mixed in 2002, and it sounded really, really good. Then I realized it couldn’t have been recorded in 32-bit float.

I'd like to disembark the marketing hype upgrade train for a bit. Thanks.

I'm hearing a LOT of plosives from creators who close-mic. Be sure to use a low cut filter and do a final check on bigger speakers to make sure you're providing your audience with a good sound experience. 🙏 Angling the mic off at 45 degrees to one side may also help.

Did I miss where @Apple talked about the battery life of the new iPad Pro? My M1 iPad Pro has some of the worst battery life I've experienced in an Apple product and hoping the new one is better, but seems like a long shot with the new tandem OLED display and thinner design.
