BEYOND thrilled to announce that I will be joining @uwescience Institute as a data-intensive social scientist in Feb. My main remit will be helping faculty and grad students across campus incorporate large data and advanced methods. I can't wait to work on tons of cool research!.

Changing topics for a postdoc makes publishing slow but super rewarding once it happens. Our 1st paper from a project started Feb 2021 was submitted today. 2 more later this summer. I know way more about the social system underlying Open-source software than I imagined.

I got a standing desk on Monday and haven't sat down to work yet. Also convenient is that I can raise it high and tuck my chair under it at night, saving space in my WFH setup.

New type of data I'm working with: noisy, cyclical time series. Could use some pointers to good methods. I have data points arranged within projects, which are nested within organizations. I would like to learn about the cycles (e.g., differences in periodicity) & trends, & how.
