Just going to say it. I hate Figma. Why design a design tool that doesn’t work like the medium you are designing for? Can you define a box model in Figma the way every primary element on your web page works? This is where @webflow got it right.

One year ago, all our UX/UI mock ups started in Figma and were done by hand. Today, we create multiple UX mockup scenarios in hours, not days (using AI tools). We may polish in Figma at the end but we don’t waste time exploring functionality in Figma.

Designers & developers say “I tried to use AI and the logo (or code) sucked. It will never take my job.” Does it really make you feel better that you might need to wait 12-24 months for it not to suck? You think that’s job security? Start your personal reinvention now not then.

Another day, another X post from a designer or developer “our work is crafted and curated, AI can’t do that.” Dudes, unless you’re like a roofer, vintage car mechanic, mechanical watch maker etc AI will do most of what you currently do. Most. Nobody said all.

It’s crazy that more people aren’t talking about the collision of AI and these tariff talks. In the amount of time it would take to bring factories back to the US, automation and AI yield largely robotic industries. There are less jobs for factory workers in all scenarios.

It really is so important to understand that the future lies in those who are great polymaths. Consider nearly any occupation. Let’s take digital design. In two years, designers will rarely be pushing pixels. Value-add will need to come from other places.

While I am not looking for a job (more on that soon!) AI Agents are going to make things hard for job seekers. You won’t be able to out work other candidates by applying more. Everyone will be able to apply to hundreds of positions easily. Standing out will be tough. Less HR too.

I had a Webflow developer tell me that they just want to focus on Webflow development because they aren't good at design and they don't like doing it. Ok but Figma to Weblow + 1000 slacks is not ideal. Technical designers and devs with creative interests have bright futures. Try?.

We just had a call with a Shopify client that wants us to add a tariff line item to the shopping cart so that customers can easily see the additional tariff markup at checkout. Not kidding.
