The Hour of Code will happen tomorrow. This year marks our 2nd Hour of Code event, all in efforts to broaden participation and raise awareness in the Botswana community about CSEd to drive change and support. We could not have done it without facilitators and industry partners.

Thrilled to have hosted Alison Clear, Chair of SIGCSE, in Botswana for a week! Her public lecture on computing curricula, competency-based learning, and industry alignment sparked invaluable conversations about the future of CSed and the need for Africa's participation.

Excited and honored to welcome Emma @dosesofem, pursuing her Ph.D. at @UMich, specializing in multilingualism in CSED as part of Engineering Education research. She joins us for an internship at @csedbotswana, to broaden participation in CSEd. Looking forward to working with her!

Thrilled about upcoming initiatives, we engaged in a 3-day workshop with computer studies teachers to gather advice for culturally relevant content in Setswana language for the Hour of Code. Exciting outcomes to be unveiled soon, leveraging the Hedy PL by @Felienne.

We're happy to showcase the incredible team of teacher volunteers who are leading the way in bringing programming education to some junior and senior secondary schools all across Botswana!
