Flashback - I used a full spectrum camera to over expose the lit portion of the moon in order to see the backed out portion. I converted this Canon DSLR to shoot in visual, IR & UV. In SHOOT THE MOON all clips that appear pink were shot with this camera.

My new solar scope is up and running now. I have yet to get a good day to shoot, but this is my first shot at processing the data. The base image is very poor quality due to bad weather and bad seeing. I will be posting high-end solar work on my website before long.

I am learning data processing using methods that do not change what I have filmed - other than color. Here is another image from my first try. It is poor quality data due to bad seeing and wind. Filming the sun is much harder than the moon (night sky), so is image processing

Solar eclipses are not caused by the moon. Also, there is another body by the sun which I shot in 2014-2015. I suspect you will see a small body eclipsing next to the sun in current images. It must be video to prove it is not lens flare and it is not green. That is lens flare

Image stacking test. The rings on the sun are Newton Rings which are caused by light reflections in the telescope. They should not be there, but I am still learning and will get this dealt with as I get better. Image grade = low C
