Our Public Services students recently visited Widnes Fire Station! They enjoyed a guided tour, tried on firefighting equipment, learned about the dangers of drink and drug driving, and watched a powerful road traffic collision rescue demonstration. @CheshireFire

On Friday, our computing students headed out on their annual Christmas trip to ArCains 🎄🎮 The visit gave students a fun and hands-on opportunity to explore how computer games are developed and created, bringing classroom learning to life through real-world examples.

Thrilled to welcome emerging British theatre talent Ellie Hurt! ✨ She joined our Level 3 students to guest-direct Twelfth Night, bringing wisdom from her work at The Everyman, Playhouse, Shakespeare North, the National Theatre & Shakespeare’s Globe. Thank you Ellie!

Julie Baker, Social Value Manager @KeepmoatHomes, visited us to launch a competition inviting students to design the logo for a new 500-home development in Halebank. The winning design will be refined with MILK during a special workshop and used for the development’s branding.

🎨 Last week we welcomed Artist Colette Wittington for an ASPIRE Week workshop! Students created mixed‑media sculptures inspired by the Catalyst Museum and will develop them into 3D artworks for exhibition next year as part of the Borough of Culture. 🌟

A massive well done to Edie McGuinness, Liam Holmes and Isaac Eyo, who all competed at the AoC Regional Tennis Tournament at the Bolton Arena, with every one of them making it through to the semi-finals and final! Incredible performances all round! Well done everyone!

🐾 Chester Zoo Trip! 🐒 This week our Animal Management students visited Chester Zoo to carry out a behaviour study on the Long-tailed Macaques as part of their Animal Behaviour module. A great day of hands-on learning and real-world experience! 👏🐾

In honour of World Children’s Day, the Sociology Society turned the immersive room into a celebration of childhood—nostalgic games, a memory playlist, “Guess the Teacher,” research on children’s charities and a survey on how childhood has changed 👦

🌟 Physics Olympics Success! 🌟 Great to see our Cronton students tackling the University of Liverpool’s physics challenges with teamwork, problem-solving and plenty of enthusiasm! Our first-year team won silver, finishing 2nd overall and 1st in spectroscopy!✨
