Anyone in need of a good example should look into nrmt/mtnr and the dom/sub interpretations associated with both. Each relationship dynamic requires very different aspects of their personalities literally to make sense yet rarely do I see either character completely butchered

I don’t think it’s crazy to express top/bottom preference since they are undeniably different both physically and thematically. The approach to the relationship does in fact change as neither position exists in a vacuum

Not to sound like an asshole but the whole “fujoshis are mixing up dom/sub with top/bottom” argument falls apart when you actually start interacting with fanworks and realize dom/sub is absolutely accounted for
When ppl say "but the whole dynamic changes" I don’t understand because isn’t it the same characters they just switch sexual positions? Their relationship and personalities don’t switch either
