How should we prepare the packages?.Depends on the couriers so make sure you ask but if you are using PHLPOST afaik there should be no changes. Just make sure to include complete details including contact numbers and CN22 forms to minimize chances of it getting rejected by the US

How will tariff apply to my packages? Will I know if it'll be 19% or the $160 flat fee?. Realistically no, or at the very least I personally don't know >< The $160 flat fee option is only in play for the next 6 months though so you could either risk it or wait it out.

As PH artists, what can we expect?. Possible requests for returns, refunds, or losses may occur. You may have seen some artists already temporarily closing their shops. Your packages are still duty-free if it arrives before Aug 29. Communicating with your customers is key!

What would a sample computation look like?.This is what it would look like between the ad valorem duty and the specific duty. This is just an estimate, other fees might also apply depending on the transport service / courier you use!

I'm still confused! What are these terms?.Here's a summary that hopefully helps!. Some information such as the dates of implementation may change so please keep up to date with the news!

Why 19% and why 160$?. They're the assigned tariff rates and amounts for the Philippines! If you are from another country, you may want to review the EO document to check what the rates are for yours.

When will this be implemented?. De minimis packages that arrive to the US by August 28 should still be safe and tariff-free. But from August 29 onwards, the EO applies. For the next 6 months, specific duty (flat fee) may also apply.

How does this affect me as a small artist seller?. Previously, our items are exempt coz our trinkets are too small to be deemed valuable and thus falls under de minimis and is not taxed. But due to the de minimis suspension, our items will now definitely be taxed ><

What’s with the new Executive Order 14324?.The executive order suspends duty-free de minimis treatment for All Countries. Which means US-based customers will have to pay tariffs to receive purchased items from PH Artists amounting to either 19% of its value OR a flat fee of $160
