We were waiting for our aircraft to arrive and change two tires. Today I brought my camera with and caught this in perfect light, although there was a lot of heat haze from the ramp. Sometimes summer is too short.

Brass rod for the ladder and Exhaust set arrived. My solering needs practice. A lot of filing to do. The other project is the Airfix 32 scale Mini for a friend. Union Jack in Gold Titanium for the roof.

Oops, back to square one, or should I say step 1. After starting on the ladder, I found a better photo giving a much better view to get the basic dimensions. Comparing the length of the cockpit sill from the photo to the kit, allowed me to determine the basic outer measurements.

The outer basic sections are attached, from here the shape is adjusted to check for alignment. The wood dissipates heat quickly. The paint booth fan vents harmful fumes from solder. Wear eyeglasses and a mask for protection.

Today I slowly progress with the F-2. Using an F16 ladder for a reference, manufacturing one from brass rod and solder. Excess will be filed and smooth. Did I say the Mitsubishi F-2 is one of my favourite?

Sometimes I spend a lot of time looking at small details. Hasegawa F-2 kit research. Noticed the camo pattern has changed over time, the left shortly after delivery and then a recent photo. The top looks like a bird pattern.

A question about Mitsubishi F-2 flight controls. Are they set to down before the engines are turned off, or do they droop after hydraulics power is lost post flight? I hope some one can help. Today I worked on a canopy mask for painting.
