I think some people believe the money just starts over when a school pays a recruit or a player. Just because YOU have forgotten about the financial commitment doesn't mean it goes away. The more blue-chip players on the team, the more money you need for the existing roster.

This is exactly what happens when your ownership doesnโt trade for pitching and you blow a save. The pen is scarce and they did nothing to bolster it, besides praying everyone would stay healthy (they havenโt).
