Friends- This is a tough note to write, but since a bunch of you have started to suspect something, I’ll cut to the chase: Last week I was diagnosed with metastasized, stage-four pancreatic cancer, and am gonna die. Advanced pancreatic is nasty stuff; it’s a death sentence.

What’s ironic is that the story of Jesus’s flight to Egypt is a lot more akin to Christians being forced to leave liberal states for conservative ones because liberals are trying to forcibly steal their children to mutilate & indoctrinate them. But Summit never speaks on that.

Having had a front-row seat to BCMs in the past few years, this is not a promising sign. BCMs are just extensions of the shallow garbage that is widespread in the SBC. No actual discipleship, no actual doctrine, just a bunch of plants with the appearance of life but no root.
@BaptistLeaders It appears we may lose Caleb. I don’t think that means the entire next generation. Baptist Collegiate Ministries are thriving right now.

As I was explaining the day’s events at @_SBTC to my wife surrounding Fielder and how they are manipulating titles to pretend they’re not egalitarian, my 7 year old daughter loudly exclaimed “But that’s lying!” Funny how a child understands what Texas Baptists apparently can’t.

Very true.
As a young and conservative Southern Baptist, the continued affirmation of egalitarian churches makes me not want to stay in cooperation. The ambivalence on these matters is going to continue to alienate the younger more conservative and right-wing generations.
