I'm going to keep posting a few things here until the end of the month, but I plan to make the full transition to Threads and Bluesky after that. Leon can eat shit.

Snack Shack: Felt Linklater-esque except there was some actual heartfelt moments instead of just a fun romp the entire time. That said, it's a summer break coming of age flick set in the early 90s, so I obviously loved it. 3.5/5

That was one of the ugliest wins of a basketball game I've ever seen. Happy the Wolves broke that losing streak, but instilled zero confidence in me that anything has changed.

The Substance: Body horror really isn't my thing despite the impression I've given over the last few months, but I do get where this one was coming from at least. Truly wasn't expecting it to end with a GWAR performance. 2.5/5

There will always be a little bit of schadenfreude watching a former Vikings kicker absolutely shank a FG attempt for their new team.

Street Trash: It's like a campy body horror version of the food fight scene in Hook (which gets discussed in the movie, so I'm guessing they're aware). It's funny in how absurd it is but could've honestly used more melting. 2/5

Saturday Night: The cast is pretty great, even if I'm not super familiar with all of the people they're playing. The story takes some time to really get going, but the it gives us time to get to know everyone before the flurry that is the last 20 minutes or so. 3/5

At some point there needs to be an iOS update that lets you turn off sound in apps. There’s no reason a tiny ad should overtake the music I’m actively playing.

Strange Darling: This was basically In a Violent Nature told from the other perspective and without the interesting lore and backstory. The best thing about this was Ed Begley, Jr making that ridiculous breakfast. 2/5

My Old Ass: Well that was adorable. There's really not a that much to the plot, but it did make me want to go hug everyone in my life that I care about by the end of it. 3/5

Glass: It's interest how different the three movies in this trilogy are. Unbreakable is a drama, Split is a thriller and this one actually feels like a (still very grounded) superhero movie. This may be the weakest, but it's still got some interesting additions. 3/5

Split: And this is why a trusted public transportation system is so important! James McAvoy puts on a pretty amazing performance & the tension is very high right from the jump. Very different vibes from Unbreakable. Interested to see how it all comes together in Glass. 3.5/5

Unbreakable: The pace is slow, but it makes sense for a very grounded comic book movie. Had I seen it prior to the last decade of superhero blockbusters, I don't think I'd even note it. Cinematography is top notch & the patented swerve at the end was actually a decent one. 3.5/5

KAT for Randle and DiVincenzo might go down as the worst trade in Wolves history and that's fucking saying something.

I’ve watched a lot of bad Wolves basketball over the years and this defense looks like one of the most lackadaisical I can remember. There’s no fight in these guys.

Blade Runner 2049: Even with the pretty slow pacing, I still enjoyed almost every aspect of this one much more than the original. It's always interesting to see how sequels like this take on an already outdated vision of the future. 4/5

Blade Runner: I was expecting more than just a mediocre cyberpunk version of The Thing. The sets and the score are cool, but for a movie considered a classic, I'm underwhelmed and for a robot, Roy sure sweat a lot. 3/5
