I think the Reformed view of the sermon in the mount is the right view. But I also think it requires a large amount of Eisegesis. The Catholic view is the plain reading of the scripture.

If Christs sacrifice is a fulfillment of Levitical atonement sacrifice… where and when did that animal Being sacrificed suffer? The point was to get the blood to sprinkle it for purification. Not to make it suffer for punishment.

I’ll be honest bros I feel hardly any personal conviction to observe the Sabbath the way Presbyterians do. I’ve been through the confessions, taken the seminary classes, read the arguments. Strongly convicted in many areas, it just ain’t one of them.
