Looks like Rojava might be done for. Grim. The experiment was a progressive national liberation movement (many on the left fell for a myth of a ‘libertarian socialist revolution’) that made tacit deals with the devil by largely abstaining from any conflict with the Assad regime.

I think the best way to understand Rojava was as a (relatively) progressive natlib movement. But that can only go so far - class struggle is the only real means of liberation, and given the deals with the US and Assad it is not particularly surprising to see it collapse.
