School boards laying off staff is a direct result of this UCP fueled strike. Province can brush it off as a “board decision”, but if there were classes ongoing, there wouldn’t be the need for layoffs.
#BREAKING The ATA just announced they are returning to the bargaining table Tuesday. I’ve also confirmed with CUPE that 3 school boards have now issued layoff notices to support staff. The province says they are maintaining funding, but that is a board decision. #ableg
