@CoinbaseDev @ietf @alxndrguy We're super excited that the Coinbase team decided to adopt the design philosophies we've been preaching with Faremeter since July. Being agnostic, being compatible are all important north stars for open-source. We believe plugins are a powerful step to making that happen.

@CoinbaseDev @ietf @alxndrguy And that's x402 v2! To be honest, it reads much less like a protocol update and more like an SDK/reference implementation update. Nothing really changed with how x402 works. What has changed is how Coinbase's SDK works, and some warts in the original protocol specification.

@CoinbaseDev @ietf I think this is @alxndrguy's personal mantra. These key upgrades read like policy controls. Customers like policy. They also like control. We like what customers like.

@CoinbaseDev @ietf No notes. Discovery is still a major topic. Though, are facilitators really necessary? More thoughts on this from us later...

@CoinbaseDev @ietf We've been saying for a while that the future will be a mix of web3 and web2 practices. Both reusable access and subscriptions have been front and center for the customer conversations we have made. Expect us to level this up in the coming week(s). x402 is about to change.

@CoinbaseDev @ietf We loved taking this modular package approach with Faremeter/Rides. These types of modular packages make it so much easier for developers to start shipping faster. Definitely expect more of these packages for Faremeter in the coming months.

@CoinbaseDev @ietf Big fan of this. Looking forward to seeing how devs take advantage of this down the road.

@CoinbaseDev @ietf Plugins, plugins, plugins. Doesn't make sense to mess with internals if all you want to do is add something new. Glad to see this idea from Faremeter getting traction.
