The dapper leucistic starling has survived the winter. Its beak now yellow, the only sign that it’s in breeding plumage. With a flock of about other 150 starlings still foraging the marsh, possibly not paired up due potentially mates not recognising or accepting its appearance
Currently theres a rare visitor among the large flock of starling that are feeding & roosting on the marsh. A white or Leucistic starling occurs only 1:30000, even at a distance in the midst of a murmuration it stands out like a beacon & that makes it a easy target for predators
