Interesting UEFA rule in the notes from the Shels Fans Advisory Board meeting - "Champions league music can't be played in the stadium on match day until the final qualifying round" . @shelsfc too late to add Zadok the Priest to tonight's playlist?.

I also cover what happens when idempotency is missing or misbehaves, including the story of a very unusual Spotify hack!. If you're building a resilient API and want to avoid these headaches, then take a read, and let me know how it goes for you!. 🔗

Odd sign in flow for @AerLingus wifi, redirecting to an external signup page on a different domain. Looks like someone forgot to renew the external domain, could be an interesting phishing target.

So it is possible to build a DNS server using Stripe metadata!. Is this a good idea? No. But is it a viable option if you're in a rush? Also no. Absolutely not - it is the jokiest of projects. But an interesting exercise!. #stripe #api #donttrythisathome.

Stripe metadata is great for config, entitlements, and... DNS? This experiment takes one good API feature and stretches it into the worst possible infrastructure layer.

DNS entries are complex, and need to be read quickly. So I thought why not use a payment processor's simple key-value store to save data?. But does it work? Kind of! There are a number of limitations, but it's a useful way to explore limits of metadata, and write-then-read flows.

🌐 Stripe Is My DNS Provider Now (or "When Good APIs Meet Bad Ideas"). Inspired by @quinnypig's famous post about Route 53 being a database, I wondered what's the opposite? If DNS can be a db what's the most absurd way to implement a DNS server?. Using Stripe metadata, obviously!
