Today, I spoke with the institutional survivors on hunger strike outside the Dáil (Irish Parliament) They said they will not stop their hunger strike until the government meet their demands. It is a very sorry state of affairs that it has come to this.

It would have been nice to vote but irish living in Northern Ireland and elsewhere abroad have no vote. In 2013, a constitutional convention recommended extending votes in presidential elections to citizens living outside of the Republic of Ireland
