Now… I’ve always loved learning and grime & rap collectives like Boy Better Know, Dreamville, and Donald Glover’s ROYALTY The way they create together. So I asked: what if I took that energy into my world? I raised £17K, brought 6 Black artists with me — and LOYALTY was born.

That same year, I was lucky enough to be awarded the Jerwood Live Work Fund to sustain my practice during Covid (while still working my muggle job at Argos 👀). Only 33 artists over the UK were selected — and I was 1 Having people believe in me back then meant everything. 🙏🏾

🧵 Back in 2021, post–George Floyd, there were so many Zoom calls and “listening sessions” but barely any action. As one of the few people of colour in those rooms, I got frustrated. Real change needed more than just talk, it needed action
