Con Magees would like to wish John “Curly” McIlwaine a very happy birthday today and thank him for supplying us with magnificent photographs year after year as will be evidenced this Fri night at our Dinner Dance. Happy Birthday Curly.
Today marks the end of an era as we bid farewell to our President, Kevin Carey. Kevin devoted his entire life to Glenravel GAC and his departure leaves a void that will never be replaced. No other individual has had the same impression on our club over our 100 year lifespan.
Today we said goodbye to Tony “Russell” McAuley, a true legend within Con Magees family. Tony is pictured below as winning captain of our U21 Footballers in 1964 & again with the trophy we won in 1998. He was known & loved by everyone in the club. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
Neil 'Vic' McCann was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer earlier this year. Having just undergone his major surgery, Vic’s Clubmates will walk from the Dam to Carnlough on Sat, Mar 12th to raise funds. All proceeds will go to the fight against cancer.
“Neath the bleak mid-winter snow” Con Magees form a guard of honour as Tony “Russell” McAuley makes his final journey from home to church today. He has gone but will never be forgotten. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.

Two years ago Ally was pictured with Kevin Carey and the Junior Championship trophy. Ally was Captain that day and today Captain Conor, Ally, Kieran and Ciaran dropped in with the trophy to Kevin who couldn’t make it to the match. Nice touch lads!!

Con Magees, Glenravel GAC were deeply saddened to learn of the death of former player and long time servant of our club, Henry Higgins. Henry was a regular in Fr Maginn Park and his sons all wore the green & white with pride. To Paul, Dessie and Martin we extend our sympathies.
Con Magees would like to recognise the contribution made by Alec McQuillan as Antrim County delegate to Ulster Council over the past few years. A fine ambassador for club and county. We also would like to congratulate his successor as Ulster Council delegate - Seamus McMullan.
Congratulations to Gordon Dillon and Sally Flaherty on winning the Lotto Jackpot of £5,000. The winning numbers were Sally’s but they were in under Gordon’s name. In the age old tradition of “what’s yours is mine....” both are seen here receiving the cheque.
