Built for a wealthy businessman, this lavish 24-room mansion was said to be the most expensive home ever built in Columbus at the time (1907). Since 1989, it's been home to the Mansion Day prep school, serving Pre-K to 5th Grade students in the beautiful, largely-intact estate.

📸 This Westerville home was a part of the Underground Railroad. It was built for Bishop Hanby, an abolitionist and co-founder of Otterbein University. His son, Benjamin, wrote more than 80 popular songs, including “Up on the Housetop”.

📸 The Southfield Saints were a powerhouse baseball team from Columbus’ south side, winning many championships in the independent Knothole League. They were led by Ray “Mr. Baseball” Humphrey, a civil rights activist and community leader.

📸 One of Columbus' most acclaimed restaurants, with a 17,000-bottle wine cellar, occupies a former church. The congregation moved in 1971 and a different restaurant moved in, before giving way to The Refectory in 1981.
