another test of the coldtype add-on for blender — still very early days and lots of bugs, but now publicly available at https://t.co/YFH5Kn5yaw if you’d like to try it out (font credit: @cinketype’s Kass)

recipe: turn a 2D vector into a stereo waveform (X/Y -> L/R), play it back through a very resonant low-pass filter (with a constantly changing cutoff frequency), & display the results on an XY scope

A lot to unpack in the new 0.8.0 release of Coldtype (tutorials coming soon), but for now here’s a loop, the code to make that loop ( https://t.co/U1Gf3cS19K), & the changelog for the new release ( https://t.co/rMyko3dS8b)

A common question when trying out coldtype: “what are some good variable fonts that animate nicely?” Here’s a new discussion on the coldtype github, with a few of my favorites and a little code to iterate over them: https://t.co/6tbUjXeQRi

the easiest way to get to know coldtype (without installing anything at all): a notebook on @GoogleColab animate completely in the browser & download png frames or compiled mp4s when you’re done https://t.co/VKXxkT3fzd

“warped words / curved mirror” — variable font support by @coldtypexyz & distorted/curved mirror surfaces in blender — might be getting a little further in my quest to figure out how title designers made titles in the 60s and 70s
