1/4 Over the last few years, we’ve grown from working primarily with a single foundation to partnering with more philanthropists who share our commitment to high-impact giving. To better reflect this, Open Philanthropy is becoming Coefficient Giving.
Some news: Open Philanthropy is now Coefficient Giving! Our mission is unchanged but the new name reflects our growing work with other donors to multiply the impact of their giving. 🧵 on our work to make philanthropy a more efficient "market" and plans going forward:

(2/8) Our technical AI safety grantmaking grew from $40M last year to a projected ~$130M this year (separate from OP’s AI governance and capacity-building teams); we want to continue this trend but are bottlenecked on capacity.

🧮 We just wrote a post on the back-of-the-envelope calculations we use for global health and wellbeing work, from public health to medical research. ✉️ The bad news: "Back-of-the-envelope calculation" is just an expression, unless you have a HUGE envelope. 📕 The good news:
