Because they prepare for the draft in free agency, they make sure they don’t have any massive holes going into the draft. It allows them just to let good players fall on their lap and draft them.
@codiki Definitely. Bengals wanted to address the linebacker room in the draft well they shoulda started with Campbell and then come back with Scourton or the 2nd or 2 of the best edge rushers in the draft in Green or Pearce instead a teams likeBaltimore & Eagles keep getting stronger.

Don’t pay FA prices and you go to the draft with holes to fill . Enter the draft will holes and you can’t truly BPA you shift some to need and that leads to bad practice and bad picks.
@codiki They often draft for need because they’re looking for cheap replacements for roster holes. It rarely works and usually just creates more roster holes next year.

@codiki Tobin gets all the credit when the bengals are picking in the top five. But when they are picking in the bottom half of round 1 there have been so many bad picks.
