Me writing code today:

My husband just looked through my random purchases of laptop parts and asked me if I was “rehabbing a laptop” and he laughed because there’s new laptops I could just buy. But the fun is in the rehab. It’s like me being a kid taking apart old typewriters and VCRs. It’s fun.

I've been working far too much. But at least I enjoy it.

Being able to test locally without relying on the internet is an amazing thing especially when you are on a 5 hour flight and the internet is terrible.

I can't express how many times git reflog has saved me from my stupidity. It's a lot.

Code gen (non-LLM specifically) is overrated and adds overhead. I’m convinced of this.

Church bagels are the best. I don’t know why they taste so good but they’re so good.

I bought myself a used laptop. It was a little under $64 USD. I'm really looking forward to replacing a couple parts on it and bringing it to life.

If my short couple months of streaming brought me this, worth it. I had so much fun streaming but now, there’s too much going on now. Streaming was never in my plans. It was just a spur of the moment thing. But I had so much fun while doing it.

Just got home from my business trip. After working all day and then hopping on a 5 hour plane ride, you can bet I woke my kids up for hugs and kisses. And then I ate my breakfast/lunch/dinner because I literally worked the entire day (even on the plane).

I just walked into a glass door. It was so embarrassing and funny. 😆

The last time I joined a team (back in December of last year), I was so unhappy and miserable for 6 months. I spent 4 months working solo after leaving the job because I didn’t want to risk feeling that way again. Now I have a great team. It’s awesome.

Me: “Give me a few days. I’ll rewrite the whole app” Then: “Yeah? Go ahead.” Dang.

Prototype I was inspired to do which is use an LLM to query a database (read only) without sending the results (which contains PII in the real data) back. I knew it was possible but wanted to show it. Needs refining but the concept is there.

Day one of my business trip in the books. As a shy/weird person, it is really hard to walk into a room of people and feel like I belong. But today, probably one of the best experiences I’ve had. But I’m exhausted now. Social energy tapped out. Until tomorrow.

I want to code so much.
