As coaches, have we forgotten what 7v7 is about? It is not about flash, it’s not about uniforms, it’s not about all-star teams, and honestly it ain’t about how many games you win. 7v7 is a drill to benefit your passing game and pass defense. Teaching proper techniques & timing.

Idk when it started but judging by the posts I see from other coaches it’s happening everywhere. Kids not coming to workouts/practice. Parents allowing kids to sit around the house and then got a problem when the season come around and their child holding down the bench 🤦🏾♂️

Gather as many tools as you possibly can. The weight room is a tool. 7v7 is a tool. Camps are tools. Put each tool in your toolbox. When August comes, empty the toolbox and watch what happens...

There are lots of kids out there that I’ve worked with or know personally that I root for. But I do it from a distance... When your name hold weight you don’t need to use kids to validate you. Coaches going back & forth on social media 🤦🏾♂️ it’s some real goofballs out here

Big brand uniform/apparel companies give high schools a bunch of basic stock options and charge an arm and a leg for them. Average quality, all schools with same designs, and expensive. A bunch of private companies have better quality, better customization options, and cheaper…

7v7 is great if used correctly. Coaches make sure QBs are playing football & not standing still like a statue throwing the football. I see a lot of terrible mechanics from QBs in 7v7 film. (Dead feet, poor eye control, etc.) Work the drill!!
