Amazing when there are other coaches at our school telling kids to not play 🏈. Yet we always advocate kids playing multiple sports. The most recent one I heard “you aren’t going to play in college so why risk it?”🤬. Shame on that guy, let kids enjoy HS! It only happens once!.

Just asked my son (he’s 7) what football position he wants to play. “I want to be the guy who hikes the ball because he touches the ball every play and gets to block people.” 😅 As an ex OLer could I be any happier? I’m a proud papa right now!.

Funny. When a college or NFL team do wing t esque things the OC’s are “creative” and “gurus.” Yet when a HS installs the wing t that coach is not with it or the offense is only for unathletic, small or weak teams. 🤔.
Another Malzahn staple, quick huddle to unbalanced so they can overload you on the edge before the defense can recognize the formation.

Why do OLers get no respect! This dude is one of the best at his position. Their team won 13 games. The only stat they could put up is the OL allowed two sacks! He didn’t even allow one of them! 🤦♂️ C’mon man! At least put up SF had two rushing TDs or NFC West Champs.

I was sitting at the 22 yard line during graduation and I could think about was what play would I run right here on 3rd and 2, 2nd and 7, etc. I’m sure the speeches were great.

Just my opinion- I don’t get HS coaches asking for & then posting pics/selfies w/ college coaches when they come by. If the coach wants a picture then by all means share it. We’ve had about 15 schools by & not one has asked for pic. Maybe it’s just me they don’t want a pic w/? 🤔.

We coaches pour our heart & soul into our players/programs. After the biggest win since we took over all I could get our was- It’s a great night to be Trojan! All the hardship we faced the last 3 1/2 years was worth it b/c of last night. Man, I love OUR players, coaches & school

This what my 7 yr old did during “creative” time. He has himself quite the playbook going. He is definitely a fan of the vertical concept. Might have a still a concept or two.

It’s our staff appreciation wk- players give their jersey to staff & ask them to wear to school/game Fri. The team selected 1 of our custodians to be our honorary capt. So proud of our team for recognizing 1 of the hardest working individuals on campus. Dude always smiles too!.

Our DC Bill Davies is retiring after 49 yrs! He has meant so much to me as a HS player & now as a HC. Tmw night I get the privilege of sharing the sideline w/ Coach Davies during his last game. What an honor! For the countless young men & women you impacted-Thank you Coach!

Not sure about other dads/parents, but this is the happiest I've seen my 8 year old son since March. He is in a sports camp w/ 11 other kids. He gets to be in organized activities, gets instruction from other adults, is around kids his age and is having FUN!.

I've debated on whether to post this or not. Got this email last night from a ex parent. Obviously, I need to figure out how to be a HC or quit. I'm not a great coach but we wonder why great coaches do get out. FYI- Glad I'm a good man at least. At least give me some advice!

In no way am I getting political. Ispent 7 years teaching govt. before going into PE. It’s amazing how many people don’t know what impeachment really means. Isn’t govt./civics a graduation requirement across the country? FYI- impeachment = charged with a crime. That’s it.

My 6 year old son had his 1st flag 🏈 practice today. During “scrimmage” instead of pulling a flag he performed a textbook angle tackle. Tracked the near hip, good dip, used near shoulder, good clamp and kept his head out. I guess he’s been to too many of daddy’s practices. 🤷♂️.

Just wrapped up 1st night of freshman home visits. Love talking about our program. Good feedback from appreciative parents/players. HCs- I think home visits really helps with buy in, eases parent concerns, builds relationships, etc. It was a GREAT night be a Trojan!.

Taking a little break from school work. Jaxson wanted to get on the board and chalk it up. He’s definitely an air raid guy. Love the motion and drag to mess with safeties eyes and to help get the middle of the field open.

I set out to to run 125 miles & walk another 25 in May. Finished running 134.4 and walking 35.68 miles! . If you told me a year ago I would do this I would have thought you were crazy. Hopefully this can motivate someone else to find a way to get better or challenge themselves.

I love my players & especially our seniors. If you have never played HS football you can't understand what our seniors are going through as they approach their last game. Our SRs have given so much to our program over the last 4 yrs and it's about to be all over. One more time!

Got a huge win last night! We had a bye so I got to spend the entire afternoon/evening w/ my son. I picked him up from school, played in the backyard & then took him to his school’s carnival. It was a great night to be a dad! Some coaches don’t like byes- b/c of last night I do!.

It's was a GREAT day for team Molzen! Jaxson's team got a 34-7 win in their season opener. He got a sack on D and played every snap on O between RG and C. He makes that number look way better than I did.

HUGE win for our program, school & community w/ a 21-20 come from behind win in OT on Homecoming! So proud of our team. Down 14-0 in the 4th quarter and we didn’t stop believing. We showed a lot of GRIT tonight. I’m already on to the next one- watching film on our next opponent.

We aren’t where we want to be yet as a program but I’m going through spring progress reports and as of right now ZERO F’s and down to 13 players (out of 65) with one or more D’s. More guys are ALL IN where it truly matters- in the classroom. Proud of the progress we are making.

Well, just like that our season is over. We gave it a hell of a run but the playoff committee didn't go w/ us. So proud of our players, staff and seniors. After a rough start we came within 1 play/point of being 7-3 and league champs. We fought like heck and we finished.

Proud of our team for battling and coming back from down 14-0 at half to force OT. Unfortunately, we came up short on the scoreboard. However, we played football! For 3 hours our kids got to be kids to do what they love to do.

Just spent an hour walking around watching track, baseball/softball practice. Love seeing young people compete. I also try to pick up things watching other coaches during their practices. I got a little nugget from watching one of track coaches. I got better today!!!.

Last day of Spring Ball! I told my son no football for a couple weeks following today. He said that means the season is closer and he can be the ball boy again. So, he had to wear his game day hoodie to school-never too early to prepare. I know wrong ball but I’ll take it!

My son and I were watching the XFL earlier. A TE made a great catch in the EZ over a defender. Jaxson said “dude you got moss’d!” 😂. Another proud papa moment. Don’t know many 7 year olds who know what that means or who Randy Moss is.
