We added a similar variation to the drill below . -Run -> emphasize heel line.-Pass -> Transition into pass rush.-Draw -> Retrace .-Screen -> Retrace
Probably one of the best get off drills we have! Our’s is very similar to this. I like the heel line emphasis in run game & the detailed aiming points on the QB from both the DT’s / DE’s. We include a draw where DL retrace steps. 🎥@CoachZacSias‼️.

“Low man wins” is an overused term in defensive line play. In reality “Leverage Wins!” We must define leverage, practice leverage, and then demand it in Dline play. What cues or buzz words do you use to define leverage?. 🎥@TeachTapes .

Block Destruction all starts with the initial strike coming off the ball. Your striking power should be coming from your hips. Power comes from the ground up through your key to create knock back and separation! . 🎥@Coach_Bohannon_ .

Love a TEX (T-E) stunt run correctly! . To be an effective and all around D-lineman you must stop the run, rush the passer, and run stunts to perfection! . 🎥@FirstdownX__Os .

The goal of HS Athletics is for your child to learn how to be a better person, learn how to compete through tough times no matter what. Learn how to be corrected and improve daily. The goal is not an athletic scholarship, that’s a result of genetics mixed w/ tremendous work ethic.

If the vouchers were truly intended for public school children and families, why does Gov. Abbott ONLY visit private schools 🤔.
Many public school educators change their minds on Texas' universal school choice program once they understand what it actually provides. Public school teachers and administrators see through the Democrats' lies. When they see how it really works, they support school choice.

Awesome point and perspective. Too many times defensive guys are negative towards the offense and vice versa. This point of view creates more of a team mentality. 🗣️@CoachLGuidry.

One of my favorite demonstrations of Hips, Hands, and Feet get off I’ve seen. This is the most powerful way to get out of your stance and create knockback on the blocker. 🎥 @DLcoachbeck .

One underrated way to use the step over / agile bags is creating a chute to avoid false steps laterally. Work vertically then react to the block. 🎥@dlinevids1.

In no specific order 🧵. 1. Get certified in a CORE Subject. Avoid PE/Health if possible. This opens so many more doors.2. Join THSCA.3. Arrive early & don’t rush out beating the kids out the door.4. Look for work instead of waiting for work.5. Avoid using “That’s not my job”.

To be a dominant D-Lineman it’s not only owning your gap, but it’s being able to play gap & 1/2. Lock out & control your gap responsibility FIRST before working into your secondary gap. Must read the block & the path of the RB. 🎥@CoachDShack.

Your footwork is critical to controlling blocks. You can bench press a house, but if the foundation is not set correctly it’ll crumble. Listen to @TravionScott coaching up the importance of footwork. Attention to detail is vital and it is the difference between winning & losing!

An overlooked detail in young D-linemen is bringing their arms back to strike. Hands need to go “from the ground to the man” quickly. This warm up shows him executing hand placement & working through his progressions. #DetailsWin. 🎥@TeachTapes .

People look at pass rushing as an individual effort, but great defensive lines rush as a unit. Watch how these 2 work together to create the QB pressure, & ultimately force a bad throw into an INT. Awareness of pass rush lanes is key & QB aiming points!. 🏈 @CoachK_Baker

Controlling blocks starts with the initial strike & creating extension away from the OL’s body. Extension is critical for DL to be able to escape and make plays. The power to create extension starts from the ground up. 🎥@craigroh 🙏🏼.

Idk about yall, but $12 million donations usually come with “favors, guarantees or some kind of returns” attached. Why would an out of state billionaire give the Texas governor $12 million…. #FollowTheMoney.
An out-of-state billionaire gave Greg Abbott $12 million to pass a private school voucher scam. I'm joining my colleagues in requesting Mr. Jeff Yass testify before the Public Education Committee. Texans deserve to know who's behind this scam.

Pursuit to the ball is vital to the success of the defense. Braden Fiske plays with zero hesitation when pursuing. Ball is thrown then instant pursuit happens. A swarming defense is an instinct & mentality players need to be ELITE. 🎥 @BenFennell_NFL.

“You have more time than you think” . Go through “the process” of owning your edge then react to the ball carrier. Rushing the process or shooting gaps instead of taking on blocks will give you bad results. 🎥@TeachTapes.

Functional pass rush get off drill to engage those muscle groups. Must be loaded pre snap to get best results in the game. Players need to be mentally focused on which “mode” of defense they are playing pre snap and play to play. Not all get offs are the same.

My philosophy on teaching pass rush . DE’s need to build their pass rush off of speed to set up their power and counters. DT’s need to build off of power to setup their speed and counters . Now every player is different these are general rules.
What is you philosophy on teaching pass rush to DT’s vs DE’s? . Teach them the same way or differentiate your coaching based on position?

Defensive play of the game by Notre Dame’s DE #9 @rj_oben in pass rush mode in the closing moments of the 1st half. This is why you reach sooner than you need to. Turn the corner on the OT & accelerate to the QB! . “Sack can change a drive, but a Sack-Fumble can change a game!”

If you're a HS/College Defensive Lineman you need to watch @MasonGraham_55's tape! I've said it and I know @coach_u87 has said it! Dude is one of the best of the best to watch! He doesn't use flashy moves or does anything half way. Plays with GREAT pad leverage and hand leverage,.
