Firefighters from 16 different Front Range agencies were deployed for this incident. There are 23 participating agencies on the task force. Members are rostered on a rotating schedule, and there is always a team ready to go if needed. 2/3.#cotf1

The members of Colorado Task Force 1 (CO-TF1) have all returned safely back home. The team arrived around noon today, after spending nearly three weeks in Kerr County, TX. where they assisted in search and recovery efforts after the devastating floods in that state. 1/3

On Friday, the team will be demobilizing- cleaning, servicing, and preparing equipment to be ready for whatever comes next. CO-TF1 is expected to head back home this weekend, potentially arriving in Colorado on Sunday. #texasfloods #cotf1

CO-TF1 team members got out as soon as the sun came up, conducting searches on land and water. According to the Texas Governor’s Office, there are still two people missing. Today is CO-TF1’s final shift in the field.

Heavy equipment remains in use to support ground teams at critical follow-up sites. The goal is to complete all secondary searches on both sides of the river by the end of shift on Thursday, July 24. In the water, teams are utilizing the AquaEye® handheld sonar device… 3/4

The team’s primary focus in this new division is to complete thorough secondary searches and to continue the active search for the missing. The search zone is extensive, stretching across difficult terrain. 5/6

The terrain in the Bravo Division contains heavy vegetation, and narrow canyons with many drainages and tributaries that are not easily accessible. Here, the damage to homes and buildings along the Guadalupe River is significant and includes a large debris field. 4/6

known as divisions. Divisions are essentially geographical areas of responsibility, and are separated by natural features like rivers, streams, or rock formations, or man-made features like roads. In Kerrville, TX. and the surrounding area- there are 12 divisions. 3/6

The Bravo Division includes the grounds of Camp Mystic and the area directly downstream. Almost 200 personnel are now working in the division. During large scale incidents like the Texas floods, the entire search perimeter is often broken up into multiple smaller areas, 2/6
