There have been 56 Governors of New York.
Four have become President. Six have become Vice President. Two have done both.
Two became Chief Justice.
All that history, all that time, and there's never been a woman in the office. Until now.
Governor Kathy Hochul in 14 days.

Can we not act like this is a huge victory for feminism though? This woman is MORE conservative than Cuomo, was even endorsed by the NRA. We definitely need to see more women in positions of power, but certainly not all women wield that power in uplifting ways.
@samsutliff
I don't think you saw me claim it's a "big victory for feminism". I don't know Lt. Gov. Hochul. What I do know is that this kind of history being made in 2021 is both notable and sad. That's what I'm commenting on. Then again, I do forget this is Twitter.
@cmclymer
I am truly relieved that you will be taking the reigns until next election and hopefully NY won't fall victim to the GQPs ultimate plan -pardon TFG and clan of all state charges and pushing voter disenfranchisement.
@cmclymer
ah yes, the NRA endorsed A rating former county clerk who refused to give migrants drivers licenses despite the proven benefit to safety, what a wonderful person to be the one to break such a milestone... yayyyyy
