After receiving oral evidence from Beitbridge RDC on non submission of Financial Statements for auditing; the Public Accounts Committee has resolved to do a full enquiry into the handling of finances by Council, with the possibility of a forensic examination of their accounts.

This Friday we are having 4 Ministries stratifying why they failed to have audited accounts in 2024. Min of Youth, Min of Agriculture, Min of National Housing and Min of Higher and Tertiary Education. PAC will leave no stone unturned to ensure accountability in public finances.

The Public Accounts is now beginning to hold enquiries related to the 2024 Auditor Generals Reports. We are going to start by 36 entities who have a history of not submitting their accounts for auditing and are in breach of the Public Finance Management Act.
