Gave a Thomistic Institute lecture at U.Pitt. Great students there and people from the area (FUS and Pittsburgh generally). Title was "Theology: True Science of God or Poetical Musing?" Find it here: https://t.co/9PFJsZ9Hy0 @ThomisticInst

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin, will mark a milestone week beginning on July 31, with the celebration of the 17th anniversary of its dedication. Cardinal Raymond Burke founded the shrine in 2008 when he was bishop of the diocese. He will celebrate the

Mostly, take it in. Let it happen and attend to God. But for participating, get a Missal and ask someone to show you (a) the propers [specific for the day] and (b) the ordinary. If you can find which Mass the choir will sing, you can have the musical notes to hand.

It is very possible that I’ll be attending my first TLM this Sunday. However, I’m pretty nervous about it. Any tips for a first timer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

JUST IN: New Book Supports Authenticity of Official Vatican Report The just-released Italian book contains not only the sections of the Vatican report I published on July 1 but also important additional findings on the CDF’s survey of bishops. More here: https://t.co/x7xRzcncUu

The claim that the Catholic Church has "the fullness of the truth" is one part of that fullness. Another part is that the Catholic Church alone is appointed by God, bearer of the one true religion. We have emphasized the former claim and, sadly, been nearly silent on the latter.

I think Bishop Barron does a lot of good, but his muddled views regarding the potential salvation of non-Catholics (which distorts the tradition and even misrepresents Vatican II) does serious harm to the Church's evangelization efforts. https://t.co/tOYXCAhkFr

Excellent piece. The promises to Abraham were aimed ultimately at the spiritual, which includes a just temporal order secondarily by implication. They were not aimed ultimately at the temporal. The means to that end included temporal realities, whose purposes are past. Militant

The TLM as we have it today goes back in essentials to the 4th century and in less essential matters to the 12th. There were no significant changes after Trent.

The Church is 2,000+ years old. The 1570 Tridentine Missal was a post-Trent reform. The 1962 version used today in TLM circles is just 60 years old. It cannot be meaningfully compared to the Eastern liturgies, which preserve structures rooted in the early Church. Viva @Pontifex!
