Hey @LeoVaradkar a permanent tenancy for life in a city in Sweden, 2-bed with storage and balcony, 86sq m for €700pm. Similar in Dublin over €2000. Tell me how the grass is not greener?

Here's the Gardaí facilitating an illegal eviction during COVID-19. But let's be deeply offended by a piece of art tweeted by a SF TD.
"I've told you already, it's not my responsibility if you're homeless" says the Garda to one of the 9 tenants illegally evicted last night in Phibsboro. It is, however, their responsibility to oversee the eviction apparently. (No, it's not)

I was on @RTEUpfront last night as a tenant facing eviction. Niall Collins (FF) says we have to "balance property rights & tenants rights"- then turns out he (or his wife) owns a site with planning permission for 5 houses. Conflict of interest?.

I was on Upfront with Katie Hannon on RTÉ1 last night speaking as a tenant facing eviction. The programme was full of landlords complaining about not making enough money when there's families who won't have a roof over their heads in June. #banevictions #HousingCrisis

I was proud to stand with my aunt in law @LyndaSheridan7 on Trans Pride today. Thousands marched through Dublin in solidarity with trans and non-binary people. Today we showed that we're stronger when we stand together. #transpride #lgbtqrights #transrightsarehumanrights

Some very tragic drownings in past week. We need to talk about making swimming lessons part of PE for all children. When I was in school we had to be able to swim 200m & we got cold water & life saving training. Swimming & water skills are necessary life skills. #heatwaveireland.

This is the vacant house in Palmerstown that councillors voted against my motion to Compulsory Purchase. It's an absolute disgrace to have homes like this lying vacant in the middle of a housing crisis. I'll continue to campaign for this to become a home. #HousingCrisis

Shocking! Another handout to landlords and vulture funds!. New scheme will have councils buy vacant homes, do them up and sell on the private market to highest bidder. I won't be voting to sell off any homes that could be used for social housing!. #housingcrisis

I hope he gets charged over this. Clearly a conflict of interest and should have been declared and he should not have voted on it.
Niall Collins was one of seven councillors who voted to sell public land his wife had asked to buy from the council a month earlier. Collins's wife is now in negotiations to sell the council five social housing units on the site.

@TheOtherGordon No court enforcement order. Landlord then claimed there were fire safety issues and the building was unsafe. I checked the document and it didn't say anywhere that the dwelling was not fit for occupation.

Thousands out in Dublin today in solidarity with Palestine. We are on the verge of Israel committing genocide in Gaza with the support of western powers. Irish people won't accept the Irish government pandering to the Israeli apartheid state. #FreePalestine

I attended the counter protest to send a clear message that refugees are welcome in Clondalkin. Refugees and asylum seekers have contributed to hugely to our community. Yes people should be angry, but with the government- not refugees! #RefugeesWelcome.

Maybe if we didn't imprison people for growing cannabis or for living with addiction this wouldn't happen. Decriminalizing drugs is the only rational solution.
The Irish Prison Service has confirmed that prisons here have reached capacity and are now overcrowded. As of Friday, 167 prisoners were sleeping on mattresses on the floor | More:

"Breeding"?! I thought the notion of women being cattle was thrown out with Repeal.
The last council seat has been filled by Tom McDonnell, who said the Irish were in danger of dying out because Irish women were not breeding enough. "Our women are only breeding 1.5 or 1.6 children”. “We've great women and we want them breeding," he said.

I was there last night too, and proud to have been. It was heart breaking to see the terrified faces of refugees, including families, at Citywest. Ireland is one of the richest countries in the world, that wealth could be used to look after everyone-Irish, refugees and migrants.
I was proud to stand with others outside Citywest tonight against division and hate. This is a rich country. The problem is the wealth is in the hands of the rich. If we stand together we can fight for decent homes, healthcare and services for all.

Our eviction notices have been declared INVALID by the RTB. We were convinced that from the beginning that we could fight this, and we were right. Our landlord can now appeal this decision, or he could rethink and talk to Dublin City Council. #tathonyhouse.

If this is true there needs to be an investigation in to ABP.
An Bord Plénala deputy chairperson Paul Hyde did not declare a conflict of interest when he voted on a controversial build-to-rent apartment complex supported by an engineering report from his brother’s company. More than 150 local residents had objected.

These are the people who pretended to be concerned about women's safety. Violent racist thugs is what they are.
This man (who called himself Joseph Attley) came up to our @pb4p pro-choice stall today and told me he would slit my wife's throat before the end of the week. These are the people who claim to be "protecting women".

This is great news. It makes no sense to have people in addiction left out on the streets without supports. It also means less drug paraphernalia on the streets.
The first medically supervised injection facility in Ireland and the UK will open in Dublin in September, providing “dignity” and “humanity” to some of the “most marginalised” people in society, says the charity operating it

Tell me again how refugees and migrants have caused the housing crisis.
A little wild event that happened in Irish property last year…. “Property investors who bought up bedsits in recent years made a 200% return last year when they flipped their portfolios to a Liechtenstein-based investment fund for more than €50 million”.
