I wrote about this scene in an upcoming essay for @clereviewbooks Real life boxer Max Baer plays a fighter who wants credit for an in-ring death. The story was based on the very real events surrounding the death of boxer Ernie Schaaf, which Baer was tangentially involved in.
Great preparation for #HittingTheBooks Rosie Perez, the First Lady of Boxing, selected THE HARDER THEY FALL as the second of her TCM boxing night double feature. Hard to come better recommended than that!

I wrote about jennifer pap‘s new translation of Leslie Kaplan‘s short novel miss nobody knows. Revolutionary discouragement remains a killer.
"Kaplan deploys novelistic form as a way to represent and probe the various and also competing desires underlying the social upheaval and where and how it all fell apart." @murmurmuring on Leslie Kaplan's "Miss Nobody Knows" https://t.co/ySDMSPnUxz

Ooooo! My interview with Pirkko Saisio’s translator Mia Spangenberg is live on @clereviewbooks ! I went all the way to Finland for this! If you ain’t read The Helsinki Trilogy yet, you better get on that before it’s too late to say you read it before it was cool. @TwoLinesPress
