my kids used to call Alexa while on the pool as if it was some sort of omnipresent entity in the world.
Kids are growing up in a world where it’s commonplace to converse fluidly with computers. My 3 year old just remarked that Siri in particular seems to not understand me well and often says the wrong thing!. And it’s just so curious to me that the most valuable technology.

Coming back to Spain on vacation always makes me realize the gap between innovation in tech (in the Valley) and the daily needs of people unaware of tech. Oftentimes there is a thin thread connecting both in the distance, sometimes there is no connection at all.

UI design tools historically have mostly offered basic primitives: vectors, images, text. plus basic styling, building components, etc. To me, advanced effects like this represent an early yet exciting step in raising the ceiling of what’s possible.
