There’s a deep comfort in finding your people. You don’t have to explain who you are or what you like to them. They already know 🙏🏻.

Much merriment at the @ContentDesignLN party today 🎄 . I stand by my fish tacos as the meal of Christmas Eve tho. What’re your Christmas traditions, food or otherwise?.

Never not content designing… . I’ve got deep love for Nigella but this ingredients list is giving me twitchy eye. Why isn’t the pie filling list all in the right column?! 🤷🏼‍♀️

If anyone was asking for me in September, I was here. In the thick of it. @RichProwse even said I had a touch of mad scientist hair going on at one point. Honestly, I've never been more proud of a piece of work. Content design + teamwork = 1 new @ContentDesignLN website 😍.

I might’ve inadvertently cooked to feed the 5000, and not just the @ContentDesignLN team! . Welllll… Never knowingly under catered. That’s me.

Ahhhh. I feel so much better now. I've given you my language and content bugbears. You might as well add to them. What're yours?.

Links to other (probably interesting) things in the middle of a sentence. For example:. "A bill passed in September means <all post-Brexit laws must be reviewed or abandoned> by the end of 2023". For readability's sake, don't. Put your link at the start or end of a sentence. /9.

First up then. "Prewarn" . That makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. To warn someone is to "inform them in advance of a possible problem". So by prewarning me, are you warning me about the warning? Bit meta, pal. /7.

Alas. That's not going to happen. But. I will return the pedantry serve. So we can all be happy in our pedantry together. /6.

"I'm going to write a blog about that" . No. No, I don't think you are. Instead, I think you're going to write a blog POST. Oh! How I'd like to return to that life I lead. Where all these words and phrases were perfectly acceptable. /5.

"Key" as an adjective. Like, "She was a key part of the campaign" . I was totally fine with that until someone had a total vendetta against it and argued that it just means important. So why not say that instead?. /4.

"User testing". Seems fine, right? It didn't bother me until someone pointed out that - . No. You're not testing the user. You're testing the product or service. So what you're actually doing is "usability testing". /3.

I happen to work with brilliant, lovely, and generous people. And they come to work, with their own bugbears about language. Which, by the sheer powers of osmosis, are then passed onto me. The joy. So these bugbears now live in my head, such as. /2.

OK, ok, ok. I'll be the first to admit it. Content design is a profession for pedants. Hi. My name's Clare and I'm a pedant (@RichProwse + @NiaRCampbell know this only too well). But. I might argue that some of it is inherited pedantry. Here's why. /1.
