USC QB Jayden Maiava is cooking! He just keeps getting better and better. Lincoln Riley knows how to develop QBs.

Also tonight: Bradley Chubb is generating trade interest around the league, per NFL Net's Ian R. and Mike G.
NEW: Dolphins elevate two players, release another. All the fallout https://t.co/C1cD6zOUJu And where things stand with IR returns for Fins. And 4 former Fins players released in August get auditions over 24 hours.

Jalon Daniels at halftime: 18/21 (85%) 176 passing yards. 2 touchdowns.
Texas Tech's defense has been DOMINANT this season. 😤 The Red Raiders' FBS ranks entering Week 7: 🔒 90.4 PFSN College DEF Impact grade (4th) 🔒 0.82 points per drive allowed (4th) 🔒 3.9 yards per play allowed (4th) 🔒 12 turnovers forced (3rd) 🔒 72.6% run defense success

Not even the 4th quarter yet in his first start since transferring to Wake Forest and he’s thrown for 270 yards and 4 TDs. Purdie is a ridiculous deep ball thrower.
Filed in the "maybe something, maybe nothing" file for college QBs, since I like to find these future NFL guys very early in their college careers (e.g. Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jordan Love, etc.)...taking a close look at DeShawn Purdie of Wake Forest. TLDR: "Bazooka Joe" Milton

Tennessee called their play like it was Tecmo Super Bowl and Taylen Green just ran out of it for a first down like he was QB Eagles.

My multiview has Taylen Green, Deshawn Purdie, John Mateer, Arch Manning, Dante Moore, and Fernando Mendoza on it. No pea shooters allowed. Some TALENT here.

Bloomington's new leading man is not doing it alone. He shares a quarterback room with his brother, Alberto ❤️ @JenLada sits down with the QB brothers and Coach Cignetti to talk about their journeys and the evolution of Hoosier football ✍️

Phenomenal feature on Miami’s own Mendoza brothers, with Fernando starring at Indiana and Alberto backing him up, by @JenLada and @CollegeGameDay.

Getting more confident Fernando Mendoza goes top 5 in 2026. Dante Moore vs. Fernando Mendoza, John Mateer vs. Arch Manning, LaNorris Sellers vs. Garrett Nussmeier. Good weekend for some head to head QB views. I think 3 of them will be in the 2026 draft.

Talking about John Mateer, and TBH, it's hard to not reach for the Baker Mayfield comp, but that is just inaccurate. The more I dig in, the more I think my partner on the pod @ckparrot has it right. He is Jalen Hurts. IDENTICAL size, weight room chops, and wacky mechanics.

Kenneth Grant, who knows he must do better, said coaches have begun attending some of the team's player-led meetings. Interesting.

I said it a long time ago when they got him they had in mind that he would be a real Y for them, which is what he was for Frank Smith with the Raiders. That means the lone TE in 11- and/or 21-personnel, which would give him a massive increase in snaps. Not unlike Jonnu Smith in
Dolphins TEs coach Jon Embree said Darren Waller could continue to see an uptick in playing time after he increased from 16 to 32 snaps between his first and second game.

I'm quite positive that he's a better starter than Jack Jones and if he's fully healthy and the coaches don't agree, that doesn't speak well of the coaches.
“If he can stay healthy and put that consistency together. We like the size and like the speed. If he can play healthy and keep improving (it will benefit the defense),” Ryan Slowik on Ethan Bonner.

Every good game that Jack Jones has is a game the opposing offense allowed him to have. In THIS defensive scheme, if you bull's eye him, eventually he'll melt down. I do not see him being a starter for much longer.
“He is a very emotional player. But when that emotion gets too high you start to lose control….when a bad play happens he has to respond and not react,” Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver on Jack Jones’ struggles.

Interesting: Dolphins OC Frank Smith said the decision to play Jonah on the left side -- inside of his college position (right) -- was part of a longterm vision to pair him on the same side with Patrick Paul longterm, not a decision made for now but longterm for the franchise.
