We bid farewell to Tinsley Oden, founder of the @OdenInstitute @UTAustin. Widely considered the father of #computational mechanics, Oden devoted his career to advancing #CSE - now crucial in everything from smartphones and military security, to weather and climate prediction.

One of the founding fathers of computational engineering, J. Tinsley Oden, has died. #RIP .His 1972 book "Finite Elements of Nonlinear Continua" is a classic of the field. This is a huge loss for the community and the institute that bears his name. Our condolences.
